CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST 
Diploma Program 

PROGRAM

OVERVIEW

 

The increased reliance on computer systems, the internet, connected technologies and smart devices has made cybersecurity a critical concern for organizations and individuals alike. Keeping devices, data and information secure and protected from risks and vulnerabilities is a critical area ol activity for all organizations. This has led to an ever-growing Increase in demand for individuals possessing the skills to assess, plan and implement a cybersecurity defense strategy.

The Cybersecurity Specialist program is designed for students wishing to pursue a career in planning, implementing, administering, supporting and securing networked computer systems and their users. Network design, installation, maintenance and management as well as implementation, and operating computer services are the backbone of the information technology industry. In addition, this program explores the tools and techniques for monitoring and evaluating networks for security risks and vulnerabilities.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

The Cybersecurity Specialist program will provide students with the skills to plan, implement, administer, maintain and secure a computer network. The program fosters the development of sound computer user support skills, network administration skills and security and vulnerability assessment and remediation skills required to meet employers' needs in these areas.

The content of this networking program is based on industry certification requirements determined by Microsoft, CompTIA and Cisco. If you determine that certification is an additional goal to your diploma, our courses will help to prepare you for your exams. Furthermore, your active participation in our Learning System will help you to develop confidence in your abilities as an IT professional.

INDUSTRY CERTIFICATION

 

​Industry and vendor certifications have become a benchmark used by employers in the hiring process. The Cybersecurity Specialist program helps students prepare for certification examinations in six areas:

• Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA)

At, Network+, Security+, CySA+, PenTest+ Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)​

​​​GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS​

To obtain a diploma, all students must achieve a minimum grade of 60% in all modules.

MEDICAL OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

PRACTICUM / WORK EXPERIENCE

​

For this module students will be placed in actual workplaces related to their field of study and will be expected to act as a regular employee for the five weeks in order to gain the valuable “real world” experience that so many employers seek. Students are encouraged to find their own work experience placement; however, once placed, continuation in that placement is a mandatory diploma requirement. The business organization does not pay for the services of the student during the practicum.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

The training that the student will receive in office administration skills, medical office practice and procedures, word processing, and medical transcription in conjunction with a professional and self-confident attitude - will help prepare the graduate for a career in a medical practice, clinic, hospital, or other health

care area.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

​

The purpose of this program is to develop skills in four key areas: medical terminology, medical office administrative skills. medical transcription, and word processing. In addition, the program fosters the development of interpersonal skills. organizational effectiveness, and communication skills necessary to function in a medical environment.

CHILD AND YOUTH  CARE
DIPLOMA PROGRAM

 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Child and Youth care practitioners provide support and
understanding to young people and their families. You will
learn how to engage with children, youth and families in their
everyday lives to promote optimal development and facilitate
positive changes.
In the Child and Youth Care Diploma program, you’ll learn
from instructors about family issues and children’s emotional
and behavioural challenges. The curriculum focuses on the
theory and research of relational practice: building relationships
to support children and youth in crisis or going through
experiences of challenge and change.

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION ACCOUNTING & PAYROLL
(WITH INTERNSHIP)

DESCRIPTION​

​Our Accounting and Payroll Diploma course provides students with an understanding of traditional and computerized accounting payroll systems. Students are prepared to work in a professional business environment, developing proficiencies appropriate for a wide range of careers.

Upon completion, students will be able to establish company records; maintain daily transactions using the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, account reconciliation and payroll features; and create financial statements. They will also be versed in Microsoft Office, Quickbooks and Simply Accounting.

The objective of the Accounting and Payroll Diploma Business Administration is to provide graduates with a well-rounded exposure to essential skills needed to thrive in a business environment.
